What does Eric Frank Russell have to do with the Internet?

F-IW refers to the slogan "Freedom-I Won't" from the novella "And Then There Were None," by Eric Frank Russell.

(For release on the first of April, 2006)

The fourth anniversary of my campaign to become the Benevolent Dictator of the Internet marks its end. Too bad! Just think -- it would have been a world without top posting and base64 encoded plain text -- but no. Still, here is a free random number, ABSOLUTELY NOT TO BE USED to generate a unique local IPv6 address.

I still believe many of the principles enunciated by Mr. Russell in his writings.
